What is a Teaser Trailer?

We have decided to produce a Teaser Trailer. A Teaser Trailer is different to a typical trailer because it usually only lasts between 30 and 60 seconds. It is also released up to 18 months before the film can be seen at the cinemas. The idea behind this is to tease the audience, let them know that the film is upcoming and to get them interested in the film. Teasers often contain very little actual film footage, which is partly due to the fact that it hasn't yet been filmed and to make the audience wonder what the film is about. They are used in conjunction with other advertising products such as posters. They wouldn't be effective if they were the only type of advertising used because they would not give the audience enough information and would therefore be discarded.
